Ideadex Privacy Policy

Effective 3 September 2026

The short version: your data is yours. Ideadex has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no servers of ours that ever see your content. Everything you capture lives on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud database that only you can access.

What Ideadex stores

Ideadex stores the things you deliberately capture: links, text you type, voice notes you record, and photos you add, together with information the app extracts about captured links (titles, descriptions, preview images, article text). All of it is stored locally on your device.

iCloud sync

If your device is signed into iCloud, your captures sync through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), tied to your Apple ID. We cannot read, access, or share this data; it is protected by your Apple ID and handled under Apple's privacy policy. Turning off iCloud for Ideadex in system settings stops syncing at any time.

What we collect

Nothing. Ideadex contains no analytics, no crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking of any kind. We operate no server that receives your content or your activity. We do not know who you are or what you save.

Network requests the app makes

When you capture a link, the app fetches that page (and related public endpoints of the same platform) directly from your device to extract its title, preview image, and text, exactly as a web browser would. Those sites see a normal web request from your internet connection. Ideadex adds no identifying information of its own to these requests, and they happen only for links you chose to capture.

Microphone and camera

The microphone is used only while you record a voice note, and the camera only when you photograph something into your library. Both require your explicit action and the system permission prompt. Recordings and photos go into your library like every other capture and are never sent to us.

Deleting your data

Deleting an idea in the app deletes it. Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove synced data as well, delete the app's iCloud data under Settings โ†’ Apple ID โ†’ iCloud โ†’ Manage Storage, or disable iCloud for Ideadex.

Children

Ideadex does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, children included, because it collects no personal information at all.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Since the app's design keeps your data out of our hands entirely, meaningful changes are unlikely.
